The Sustainability Forum on Natural Stone (SFNS) is a non-profit multi-stakeholder initiative founded in 2013.
To build and implement an inclusive and sustainable road map for the natural stone sector in Rajasthan echoing the voice of the most vulnerable and marginalized mine workers across Rajasthan (India).
SFNS promotes the adoption of business and human rights principles throughout the natural stone supply chain. The key intervention area of SFNS is raising awareness and building capacity among diverse supply chain actors in order to encourage the implementation of the Business & Human Rights Principles, as well as building dialogue with key stakeholders such as government to fine tune the policy framework for efficient implementation of the sustainable road map for the natural stone sector.
SFNS advocate occupational health and safety and education on safe practices for all employees and management. Prioritisation of worker safety over productivity are essential elements for ensuring a safe workplace
SFNS focus on access to remedy on business and human rights violation in natural stone sector supply chain who suffer human rights abuses directly or indirectly
Social security is one of the key components of labour welfare. SFNS envisages that the workers shall be protected against all types of social risks and their linkages with welfare schemes of the government.
